What we hold, and why.

What we store

Your email address and a hashed password. The IP address you registered from, used to keep the free credits to one set per person. The VINs you have checked, and the vehicle data Tesla returned for them.

What we don't store

Card details. Payments run through Stripe and your card never reaches our server.

Vehicle data

VIN results are cached and shared across accounts, so a VIN someone else has already checked does not get fetched again. Nothing links a VIN to the person who ran it outside your own account view.

Deleting your account

Email us and we will remove your account, your saved vehicles, and your history. Anonymised VIN data may remain in the shared cache.

Who runs this

SC01Check is an independent service operated by Matthew Ballew, based in North Carolina, United States. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Tesla, Inc., CARFAX, Inc., Experian, or any vehicle history provider. All product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
